University of Dope Celebrates 4 Year Anniversary With Rebrand

University of Dope , the first drinking party game dedicated to hip hop culture, kicks off its 4th anniversary with a complete rebrand, that includes new site, game packaging, digital content series, and R&B expansion deck. The rebranding is in direct response to not only the brand’s growing success, but the growing demand for virtual entertainment over the past several months.

At the heart of the rebranding is the complete redesign of University of Dope’s branding and packaging, as well as updated questions and challenges within the original, “General Studies” deck. To take the game’s visual packaging to the next level, the Udope team connected with graphic designer Arielle Wilkins, creator of Brothas N Sistas, vibrant visual art pieces influenced by black culture. Wilkins designed packaging visuals that not only built upon the game’s well received collegiate-inspired branding but also designed a game box that gave the brand an even deeper connection to its Hip Hop origins. Wilkins cleverly incorporated a few “Easter Eggs” of rap references right into the design as a surprise and delight for true hip hop fans. Additional upgrades to the game included 32 new questions and challenges, a larger box to fit expansion decks, as well as the addition of purple and gold to the brand’s original black and white color palette.

New deck is available for $24.99 USD at University of Dope, Uncommon Goods, Amazon, Hip Hop Closet, and Rock The Bells.

“Like many companies during the pandemic, we felt it was important that we identified unique opportunities to not only keep our brand top-of-mind with our customers, but also expand our brand presence to reach new customers as well,” says co-creator Marian Andoh. Co-creator A.V. Perkins went on to say, “We were excited to learn that our new content also provided our audience with a temporary escape from the stress of being quarantined.”

The Anatomy of R&B Edition -

Due to release mid-May, University of Dope’s R&B expansion deck serves as a catalyst for

future expansion packs set to release within the next year. Like the Hip hop deck, the R&B deck was designed by Arielle Wilkins and includes questions and challenges inspired by popular R&B music from the 90s & 2000s. The deck is currently available for pre-order at
